Purpose of This Section

These Health and Emergency Terms and Conditions explain how Project Kindred uses health information and responds to health or emergency situations during participation.

This section exists to support participant safety and to ensure families and participants understand what authorization is given, what Project Kindred may do in an emergency, and what Project Kindred does and does not provide.

What This Covers

These terms apply to health and emergency situations that may occur during Project Kindred connected experiences, including:

  • Illness or injury during participation

  • Medical emergencies requiring immediate response

  • Use of health information to support safety

  • Emergency contact notification

  • Situations where care beyond basic first aid may be required

These terms apply to all Project Kindred connected experiences, regardless of location or setting.

What You Are Acknowledging or Authorizing

By agreeing to these terms, the signer acknowledges and authorizes that:

  • Project Kindred may respond to illness or injury using reasonable judgment

  • Project Kindred may provide basic first aid

  • Project Kindred may seek emergency medical care when necessary

  • Emergency medical providers may receive relevant health information to support care

This authorization applies when immediate action is needed and the signer cannot be reached in advance.

What Project Kindred Does and Does Not Do

Project Kindred does:

  • Collect health information needed to support safe participation

  • Maintain emergency contact information

  • Respond to health and safety concerns during participation

  • Seek emergency medical assistance when appropriate

Project Kindred does not:

  • Provide medical diagnosis or medical treatment beyond basic first aid

  • Provide ongoing medical care

  • Provide medical insurance

  • Guarantee the presence of medical professionals at all activities

Participant and Family Responsibilities

Participants and families are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete health information

  • Updating health information when changes occur

  • Informing Project Kindred of allergies, medical conditions, or needed accommodations

  • Providing clear instructions for any authorized medication

Failure to provide accurate or updated information may limit participation or require adjustments to protect safety.

Limits, Exceptions, and Boundaries

These terms:

  • Do not replace care from a licensed medical provider

  • Do not guarantee medical outcomes

  • Do not eliminate all risks associated with participation

Some activities may require additional health related forms or authorizations.

How Information Is Used and Stored

Health and emergency information is used only to support participant safety and emergency response.

Information may be:

  • Accessed by authorized personnel

  • Shared with emergency responders when needed

  • Stored in accordance with Project Kindred data protection practices

Updates, Revocation, and Changes

Health and emergency authorizations apply for the defined participation period.

Health information must be updated if changes occur. Material changes to these terms require re acknowledgment.
