Civic Leadership For Young People

Pathmakers

Milwaukee has young people who want more. They want real learning. They want responsibility. They want adults who guide them with clarity and respect. Pathmakers gives them that structure.

Pathmakers prepares young people for civic life in our city. They learn how systems work, why decisions matter, and where their own power sits. They take on work that teaches discipline, communication, and leadership. They grow with adults who set expectations, hold them accountable, and show up with steady care.

What Young People Learn

Civic Learning

Young people learn how Milwaukee works. They notice who makes decisions, how ideas move, and why their own voice matters.

Leadership Skills

Young people take on work that builds focus and follow through. They practice real tasks that help them lead with confidence every day.

Community + Support

Young people grow with adults who guide learning with care while growing the connections needed for strong community.

Why Pathmakers Matters

Too many leadership programs teach concepts without giving young people real practice. Pathmakers shifts this. They learn by doing. They speak, they plan, and they work with purpose. They build the mindsets needed to lead in their schools, neighborhoods, and city.

Pathmakers is part of the Navigators system at Project Kindred. Navigators prepares young people across grades for leadership, identity growth, and community connection. Pathmakers focuses on civic learning and helps young people step forward with confidence and clarity.

What Happens Next

Pathmakers launches with a strong group of young people ready for challenge. They will visit civic sites, meet leaders across the city, practice public speaking, and complete real projects that serve their communities. Each young person will grow through practice, reflection, and steady guidance.

Join Us

Milwaukee grows stronger when young people have space to lead. Pathmakers creates that space with intention and care. Families, mentors, partners, and community members can support this work by sharing the program with others and connecting young people who are ready for growth.
